What Does it Mean to Monetize?

Monetization is the process of converting something into money or revenue. In a business context, it often refers to the strategies and methods used to generate income from a product, service, or asset. For example:

  1. Websites and Blogs: Monetization can involve displaying ads, offering premium content for a fee, or using affiliate marketing links.
     
  2. Mobile Apps: This might include in-app purchases, subscription models, or ad placements.
     
  3. Social Media: Influencers and content creators can monetize their platforms through sponsored posts, brand partnerships, and merchandise sales.

Essentially, monetization is about finding ways to make money from what you have created or own.


Monetization Examples

Here are some examples my AI suggests of how you can monetize emails:

Affiliate Marketing: Include affiliate links in your emails. When subscribers click on these links and make a purchase, you earn a commission.

  • DO NOT PLACE URLs in Safelist Credit Mails or Solos
     
  • If your email is going to existing subscribers to your list, weigh the value of promoting another capture page vs simply a sign-up link for the program.  If your promotion provides SOMETHING OF VALUE by being on another list, send the capture page URL
     
  • Don't go overboard.  Limit to 4-5 links

Sponsored Content: Partner with brands to include sponsored content or advertisements in your email newsletters. Brands pay you to promote their products or services to your audience.

Selling Products or Services: Use your email list to promote and sell your own products or services directly to subscribers.

  • I send broadcasts daily (or at least 3-4 times per week) of my newsletter that includes some advertising along with content
     
  • When great traffic deals pop up, i send these in broadcasts out to my list

Subscription Models: Offer premium content through a paid subscription model where subscribers pay for exclusive access to valuable information, resources, or tools.

Promoting Webinars and Events: Charge for access to webinars, workshops, or events that you promote through your email list.

  • I send broadcasts to my list with webinar notifications and sign-up cutoffs

Donations and Crowdfunding: Encourage subscribers to support your work through donations or crowdfunding platforms like Patreon.

Email Courses: Create and sell educational courses delivered via email over a set period of time.

  • There are so many DFY email courses available in the PLR library at Worldprofit, MyVIPContacts, and ListGeniePro, and if you have a hosting account, it doesn't take long to upload and set up.  Most come with capture page and autoresponder email swipes.  I've gotten literally hundreds of subscribers from these courses.

By leveraging these strategies, you can effectively generate revenue from your email marketing efforts.
 


How I MONETIZE emails

Since email marketing is the primary way I advertise,  I'll tell you how I monetize emails:

MONETIZE personal emails (thank you notes), and autoresponder message stream emails, (not safelist emails) first by advertising my BRAND

  • my name, that is well known in network marketing circles,  
  • my picture,
  • my website URL,
  • my YouTube channels

and by placing links that ADD VALUE to my offer after my signature line (see mine below)

  • my affiliate programs,
  • bonuses,
  • signup pages to other autoresponder lists,
  • ebooks,
  • videos,
  • training.

I also monetize as I guide them through the sign-up process.

  • I set up my autoresponders to first, REQUEST EMAIL VERIFICATION, enticing them to finish the sign-up process with this subject line:

    Please Verify Your Email For Access to [product] and Your Bonuses
     

  • Important: do not sell on your REQUEST for EMAIL VERIFICATION – CAN-SPAM compliance
  • I then set the redirect in my autoresponder to take them to my THANKYOU/BONUS Page
    • ​I also set up the confirmation message to give the link to the THANKYOU/BONUS Page in case the redirect does not work for some reason
       
    • The THANKYOU/BONUS Page
      • ​Provides a banner/link for access to the product sign-up page or product access
         
      • provides Banners/links for access to promised bonuses
         
      • Banners/links to "side hustle" affiliate programs, traffic sources, promo code site
         
      • a link to the autoresponder join page.
         
      • Worldprofit banner rotator

The trick is to ensure your additional links or pages do not distract from the MAIN THING, but provide options they MIGHT click on.
 


 
Be a Product of the Product

You notice that I try to give examples of how I personally use a product, service, or tool, or the techniques I employ to create or promote something.  I pride myself in saying…
 

I USE What I Sell!
This is more accurately stated that, "I USE What I Promote", because, at the end of the day, I promote so many more things that are FREE in my quest to obtain QUALITY subscribers, than the actual sales I receive.

I take the time to do a deep dive with a product or service.  I SAVE and READ the sales page, and figure out where the claimed features appear on the menus, and actually try them out.

I BUY products that I promote, then try them out.

I test my pages and autoresponders.  I click the links.  I use link checkers, and use trackers.

I promote tools that save me time and money.  I automate to free up time so I CAN do these things.

And then I write reviews and newsletters, and log posts.
