I had a colleague venting about his frustrations with Network Marketing…

My response…

Me too. I sent out 963,000 emails the other day. Earnings directly attributed to those promotions: $2.10

But… it also led to 40 minutes of consulting with someone that contacted me on Live-chat.

Live-Chat discussions have led to:

• AIOP sign-ups – monthly residual
• TDL signups – monthly residual
• TeamEliteHomeBusinesses signups – monthly residual
• Safelist upgrades – one-time commissions
• WorldProfit Silver membership – monthly residual
• When people sign up for these, I become their "trusted authority" or mentor, an ongoing consulting relationship that eventually leads to many other downline sales

The emails may stimulate site visits, that then display Live-Chat, but the sales are directly attributable to Live-Chat interactions. I have that code on every safelist I own, every landing page, and Worldprofit page.

If I can talk or directly communicate with someone, my results are clearly better than email marketing. I am a good consultant, and good listener, but by "marketer" standards, I am a poor salesman because I don’t go for the jugular or close the "big" sales. I’m here for the "long game".

• Email gets them to the table.
• Direct communication is the waiter that tells them the specials and convinces them to order appetizers and dessert.
• Sometimes they only order water and a baked potato, but they THINK about the entree, and on next visit, order a hamburger, and eventually come back to order the steak… or not.
• I create a following that eventually results in sales.

So… I guess I’m good at selling RELATIONSHIPS, and not STUFF. I found that I want to HELP people, many times at the expense of that "killer sale" but once I establish that relationship the sales eventually come. I don’t care about the sale THIS WEEKEND – I’m looking forward to the sale I make 2 years from now, and all the time in-between.

So… after working as a professional consultant for many years, I’ve observed that SALESMEN have a short attention span. CONSULTANTS help them take the LONG VIEW so they can continue to make sales over and over again.

If not for all the tools: landing pages, magic list builder, lead magnet, sales chat; the traffic sources, incentives and EVERYTHING from WorldProfit that I use and integrate into everything I do EVERY DAY, this would not be possible.

So you asked about what I am doing in Network Marketing,,,

Up until recently, I owned 14 Safelists. I sold all but one ( WebcastSource.net ). There’s a story behind this…

• I am Founder/Co-Admin at 28 sites, which represents quite an investment so I USE these sites to the max and promote them like crazy.
• Many of these sites fell victim to the “Paypal Wars” and hackers, so to protect my investment, I “rescued” many by purchasing them, fixed all the hacker and software/programming issues, added value added features for both admins and members, and brought these sites back online, promoted them, grew them, and then sold them.
• I rescued many sites for their owners – did the software repairs and got them back online and generating revenue.

I an upgraded member of over 200 other sites. Most of these I use for promoting my sites and affiliate programs but some have some lucrative comp plans so I promote them too. 75%-80% use lead capture pages and referrals end up in my autoresponders and downlines

I am involved with many Multi-Stream income opportunities all front-ended with lead capture to Aweber, GetResponse, TeamEliteHomeBusinesses, GVO. I use RapidMailer with AES (5500 confirmed subscribers I harvested from the several hundred thousand leads I purchased over the last 6 years, exports from autoresponders I no longer use)

Consulting/Programming

• I help other safelist site owners and make these software enhancements to many other sites.
• I coach new site admins, provide training, tutorials, videos, resources for the admins and members of those sites
• I am producing tutorial videos for a major safelist site owner (he owns 150+ sites)
• Even though my consulting firm (opened in 1996) is now closed, I am no longer doing financial and IT audits and small business development, but some of my “offline” small business customers still call me (contractors, landscapers, electricians, a hardware store)
• I do custom funnel development, custom splash/lead capture pages, I wrote my own rotators
• Content creation, ecourses, PLR mini-sites, autoresponder campaign ad copy

At any given time I have 1-2 windows open to WorldProfit. I use:

• Lazy Blogger – every day. I post your newsletters to category WorldProfit, and all new ad copy I use to category “current-promotions”
• I index my blogs and websites with SEO Optimizer Pro
• I make lots of banners and graphics of all kinds: graphic tools and libraries are great sources
• Landing Page Builder – I have about 100 in WorldProfit, I also have 130+ using other programs like Instabuilder, 40-50 I built)
• Video vault – I post many of my videos (I have almost 300 on my YouTube Channel)
• Solo eBlaster to 15000
• Prospect Manager broadcasts 2-3 times per week
• Use Traffic Injector sites every couple days
• Magic List builder ~100 entries – I create my own pop-ups
• URL Cloaker ~844 entries
• Starting to use the Traffic Multiplier more lately
• Universal Bonus Builder for traffic bonus (but nobody ever takes me up on those offers)
• Offer Builder (few ever take me up on those offers)
• Lead Funnels (using 4 of them)
• ClickBank Promo Kit
• I have a dozen or so eBooks I have created as lead magnets, I use cover maker, the article directory, PLR for ideas
• Autoresponse Center, FB, Twitter, Pinterest – eCourses I offer in my membership sites
• Link Manager – haven’t updated in awhile.
• I occasionally post to the FB group

Now that I don’t have all the admin and programming overhead with my safelists, I am stepping up promos of WorldProfit Silver, CB Promo Kit

Here are my stats for August ~2400 clicks per day in my own ad tracker (most are not in WorldProfit ad tracker):

Oh, and just in case I get bored… I help my wife with HER offline businesses (she is a freelance chef, teaches a culinary class at the college, baker and cake designer, and has 5 dog-sitting clients)

I’m glad I’m retired – I wouldn’t have time to work!

Email is a powerful tool but not the tool it once was thanks to spammers.

In an effort to combat spam a number of providers put blocks on your email without you even knowing they are doing so. The result is that incoming email is censored by your provider on the basis of certain key words, or suspect domain names. For this reason we suggest getting a free email account from gmail.com This mail service is run by Google. They have enormous resources and in our opinion offer the best possible email system. They do not block email, all email comes in and you have 100% control over what you receive and don’t receive. You can set up forwards, personal emails, filters, contact lists, spam filters, email search and more. You can also tie your email account into other Google programs like Google Documents, Google Presentations, Picasa Photos, Blogs, Webmaster Tools and more. All of the programs are equally awesome but since we are talking about email we will stay on that topic.

Social networking sites are a valuable source to targeted marketing.

If you are in a home business, and promoting home business products, services, software etc you need to tap into social networking sites.

What you do is this:

1. Do a Google search for "Home Business Social networking sites" or related search terms to find them.
Here are some we suggest you join (free).

http://www.startupspace.com
http://www.homebasedbusiness.com/

Don’t stop there though Google and search for more, there are tons related to the home business niche.

2. Once joined, review their posting polices on what is and is not accepted so you don’t waste your time.
Then create your Profile including your hot links and contact info,
Then start posting your ClickBank product copy, your Reseller Product Copy, Your Landing pages etc to the blogs, discussions. When you comment on a blog or discussions add links to your sites (creating backlinks – VERY important)

3. Look at the Groups offered in the sites. Join groups relevant to your interests and people you want to target.
Post to these groups your promotion copy (from your Member area) and make sure your links are hyper linked (active links when clicked on). If the Group gives you the option to post a message to the group by email – do this!
The larger the group the larger the email list! Some groups may have only 20 members while others may have 2,000. Don’t shun a small list, those are still people in your target market. Return to the sites and do this 3 – 5 times a week on the various sites. In online marketing MORE IS BETTER but don’t abuse the group/site or their policies or you will be banned.

Take advantage of knowing this FACT! People HOP from program to program to program, offer them good products and reputable opportunities and you will get sales.

4. If the site gives you the option to start your own Group(s) do so – make it something catchy, interesting so people will want to join in. Possible Group Topics are "Hot Biz Ops" or "Marketing Tips" or "Best Places to Advertise" or "Biz Ideas for Stay at Home Moms" etc. Since you started the Group you can post as often as you like and hopefully when others join, your group (and your list) will grow.

5. Make friends. Send nice notes to people not ram it down their throat pitch messages, but a nice friendly hello! Include your links on your message of course, invite dialogue and friendship or a business relationship. Remember NICE begets NICE. Be a jerk get a jerk. The more friends you have the bigger list of contacts and potential buyers you have.

Final rule of Marketing. Do it EVERYDAY! No marketing is the kiss of death. No marketing – NO Sales!
