HTML or Text Ad Copy?

I made the transition from plain text ads to formatted HTML ad copy several years ago.  It was one thing when many of the email systems were so restrictive, but now, marketers SHOULD be using Gmail that accepts HTML in the email body.

Part of my “branding” has evolved to having the ad centered, with a border.  On non-safelist emails, I have a standard signature line with my picture, and my name, email, website, and Youtube channels, followed by my links.  This is almost unique, but once people who view ads for awhile see that format, they recognize it.  I am not simply posting ads. I am promoting MYSELF, my reputation, and my company.

I Gotta Stop Talking to People.

I had a very exciting conversation with a colleague the other day. The topic was,”do people actually READ your ad copy?”  Hmmm…

I get the sense that there may be a lot of truth to that.

My friend reminded me that we have an acquaintance in common who has been placing one-word ad body messagesfor years, and he is still a very strong marketer and top earner.
