Aweber Price Increase

I was just notified that Aweber will be raising the price for up to 500 subscribers to $15.90 per month.

If you are doing your job as a network marketer, you should be GROWING YOUR LIST every day.  If you are using a LIMITED AUTORESPONDER like Aweber or Getresponse, the bigger your list, the MORE YOU PAY.

This is one reason I keep preaching to use BuildABizOnline (my preference), LeadsLeap, MyVIPContactsPro, or ListGeniePro,  all UNLIMITED autoresponders.

YES, YOU DO NEED AN AUTORESPONDER!!!

The best time to choose an autoresponder is NOW, if you are just starting out, before your list gets too big, because once you have subscribers, it is difficult, or more likely prohibited, to move them to another autoresponder.

Why I Like and Dislike LeadsLeap

There are many free or low-cost funnels, with import codes to quickly create pages, lists, and for Pro members, campaigns and messages.

The problem with a free autoresponder is that, because it is free, very few of your downlines are going to upgrade, which limits the LeadsLeap features and capabilities to make it a great list building tool.  It also limits your ability to earn the 50% commission residual income, that would pay for the expensive ($27) monthly fee for the Pro upgrade.

Why I Like ad Dislike MyVIPContacts and ListGenePro

MVCPro and LGP are both unlimited autoresponders (it is the same code, but each is a different configuration).  LGP allows import of leads from several specific lead suppliers.  Tools are adequate but old technology.  There is a new system that will be coming within the next six months.

I’ve gotten hundreds of subscribers on both, and lost hiundreds of subscribers on both.  Once a subscriber bounces for any reason, there is no way to restore the person to an active subscriber.

My Recommendation: BuildABizOnline

There are so many tools, and the autoresponder is UNLIMITED with the Pro Executive upgrade for only $14 per month. Share Codes allow you to duplicate or export/import pages, or autoresponder campaigns.  You can request hosting and a blog.

I’m trying to consolidate, but as I said, it is challenging to move subscribers between systems. I drive many on my lists to  subscribe to my Worldprofit autoresponder campaigns through other capture pages, so they can unsubscribe to the less desirable systems.

Why to Consider Automation

I consistently say that I send over 1 million emails per day.  I track it on a spreadsheet.  These are the ones I submit, and it even omits the passive submissions and automation.  It’s actually edging on 3 million if I include Master Safelist Blaster, Traffic Zipper, Emerald Traffic Boost, and other submitters.

And, you have heard me say that it only takes me an hour a day.  So, how can I do it when so many others are struggling to do a fraction of that?

And no, I am not a notorious spammer.  My emails are all going to double-opt-in members of safelists, subscribers on my personal autoresponder and mailer lists.  This is proven by the number of actual CLICKS I receive every day.

My daily routine:

• I select the 3 ads I will promote
• I shift subject lines and update ad copy
• I update my Lightning AutoFill automation software with those ads
• I send to BigDogs CHIPS sites according to my daily schedule.  This is usually about 450,000 emails
• I select the Supersolo sites that would drive those email volumes over 1 million (usually 5-6 supers)
• I select 5-10 individual safelists where I have upgraded to send solos and credit mails.

Elapsed time is less than an hour.

The solo submission from Master Safelist Blaster is automatically scheduled every 3 days.  I have 5 saved ads in the MSB rotator.  The next ad in the rotator is sent to 546,000+ members of 315+ safelists.

TrafficZipper works a little differently.  My credit mail ads are loaded (I have several dozen).  For the next ad in rotation, TrafficZipper checks the available high CTR sites, and verifies there are available ad slots and sufficient credits. Full upgrade to M3 Inner Circle is $67./month

Emerald Traffic Boost sends one Ruby Solo to 100,000+ members every week.  I set up the solo ad, and the passive traffic is logging 500 views per day to that URL.  Additional views are being delivered by the Prime Login Ads as Associates login and interact in their member areas.  I also receive 3-5 new Emerald Leads per day.  I’m grandfathered in at $47/month

TheClickEngine delivers clicks daily to my two URLs.  Likewise with TheClickGenerator.  $5 each per month.  I chose the one-time upsell on both for 2nd URL.

FeaturedOffersXtreme is delivering dozens of clicks daily to the many ads.  With any subscription (lowest $4.97/month), not only get unlimited views for your ads, but  earns 50% commission

Referral Frenzy is a manual submission, but I can schedule up to 30 ads for up to 30 days in advance.  I can send to almost 100 safelists.  RF tells me which sites have available ads and credits, and gives me the opportunity to click  ads for credits right in Referral Frenzy.

There are many other less notable traffic sources, but these are my go-to’s.  Obviously, it takes more than an hour, but I don’t touch most of the passive resources but once every couple weeks.

With all the automation I have implemented, I have TIME to dedicate to creative endeavors, playtime with AI and video production, newsletter content curation, subscriber and customer communication, and most importantly, RETIREMENT ACTIVITIES, and spending time with my 3-year-old grandson.

Costs

Of course, you cannot go out and subscribe to ALL of these at once.  You also must determine what YOU can afford at this time in your budget.  Which can you subscribe to?  Which can you do ad hoc?

I have upgraded to many of these resources to get, not only the increased traffic, and more frequent submissions, but also to get the highest commissions.

  • Join all the CHIPs using your sponsor’s links provided by BigDogs.  (I don’t provide MY links because I want you to join using your SPONSOR’s LINKS.  Of course, if you buy the ebook and do the upgrade to Alpha Dog from ME, I will be your sponsor, and you will receive MY links).  Suggested upgrades:

    • MisterSafelist $17/month, pays monthly

    • BuildABizOnline unlimited autoresponder for $14/month.  Pays on demand over $20.
    • Herculist Plus $49 one-time for Lifetime Gold.  Send to 349,000 EVERY DAY.
  • Promote BigDogs, and each of the CHIPs above to start generating referrals, and commissions

I earn commissions on many other affiliate programs, but their value is in the LIST BUILDING capabilities and how I promote them.

Commissions are earned as a result of autoresponder follow-ups and newsletter content distributed to my subscribers (see 7-11 exposures article), NOT from safelist ads.

7-11 exposures

As a professional executive consultant for Lexmark, a former division of IBM Consulting, I attended the world-class IBM Sales and Marketing Training.  I was not in sales, but since I worked with the sales people who would bring in consultants (like me) to identify and solve customer problems that would in turn, earn the sales people their outrageous commissions, I had to understand and integrate with the sales cycle.  The man on the stage BEAT ON THIS TOPIC for HOURS.

It takes 7-11 exposures to move someone from
Lead (curious) to Prospect (interested) to Customer (Potential Buyer).

If you are just posting an affiliate link or sales page without a means to capture the name and email of that lead to a list manager or autoresponder, you have no ability to maintain further contact with that lead.

In email marketing (that’s what you are doing when you send Credit Mails and Solo Ads on Safelists), your goal is to GET TARGETED LEADS with interest in your product or service as SPECIFIED ON YOUR CAPTURE PAGE to SUBSCRIBE to YOUR “LIST“.  You then FOLLOW UP to build KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST.  PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE THEY TRUST!

It takes 7-11 exposures before someone “gets it”.

If you are only posting affiliate links with no ability to capture that lead, it is SOMEONE ELSE who will expose that person to the same information, NOT YOU. You have lost any possibility of making a SALE.

If you CAPTURE that lead and get them to SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LIST, then YOU  get the OPPORTUNITY to FOLLOW UP to present those 7-11 exposures.

Autoresponder Messages break down the complex topics presented on sales pages (nobody reads sales pages but they will read emails if in smaller “chunks”).

Broadcasts and newsletters are ways to communicate and build RAPPORT with them once on YOUR LIST.

Could You Re-Invent Your Business?  Can You PROVE IT?

I spent 32 years in the corporate world before officially retiring (the first time).  Actually, 7 years before I retired, I started 3 businesses, in addition to working full time, traveling for business, and raising a family.  Even though I traveled almost every week, on a train, plane, or automobile (I’m a big guy, but am not mistaken to be John Candy), I was home most weekends.

I had far too many vacation days accrued, in fact, I was actually put on “remedial vacation” by HR where one year, I was required to take off every Friday and Monday from July until the end of the year to use up all those days, or lose them, so I spent that time renovating the 1890’s vintage Victorian duplex apartment building I bought and managed.

Post retirement, my consulting practice took off, but required extensive travel for 6-month blocks of time while doing auditing, with focus on one client exclusively at a time.  I could handle support of most small business clients remotely, but it ended my run on the lecture circuit and conducting seminars for real estate entrepreneurs.

Unfortunately, between gigs during the first year, I had an accident that left me unable to do any more DIY work on my real estate holdings, and do any property management, so I liquidated those two businesses (retirement #2). After recovering enough to return to work, my focus became solely on my consulting clients.

I actually got back into the corporate world again, this time as a professional consultant, with all Fortune 500, government, and military clients.  I loved what I was doing, and had no management responsibility, no budgets, no HR or union issues, no employees reporting to me.  I got up in the morning, and after the first year, transitioned to my home office, so I walked downstairs, and just did my job. Traveled when I needed to, but my trips were generally only a few days at a time, and not every week.

That job was fine until my poor knees, after so many years of being bone-on-bone, gave out, and I had my first knee replacement.  The company put me on disability, and when that ran out, let me go.  This was, according to my wife, my 3rd and FINAL retirement!

I had a rough recovery from knee surgery, with almost 2 months inpatient for rehab.  During that time, I had my laptop and WIFI, so I spent my time, when not doing PT, researching, and starting building a business plan for internet marketing.

I spent the next couple years building up my e-commerce business, with two, 10,000 product e-stores, and generating organic traffic through SEO for my blogs in which I highlighted the products, and did reviews for the particular niches for which those products were used.

That worked out fine until Google released a new version of its search engine rules called “Penguin“.  The day that was introduced, all the time and money I had invested in SEO went right down the drain.  ALL my traffic FLAT-LINED, the lifeblood of my business needed to drive prospects to my blogs and e-commerce stores.

I have to admit, that even though I was fanatical about having a BUSINESS PLAN, including an EXIT STRATEGY, this took me totally by surprise.

Fortunately, I had been “dabbling” in email marketing before Penguin, and found a way to RENT safelists affordably.  My strategy was to rent several safelist sites, not only for unlimited free advertising, but also TO GET THE BONUS SUPERSOLOS that were “thrown in” by the site owner.  This was a way to generate traffic without the money pit of SEO.  A nice side benefit was that it provided a way to build and manage MY LIST, because each site included an autoresponder.  My monthly rent for each site was cheaper than the purchase of supersolos alone, so this was a win-win.

After the Paypal fiasco that put so many safelist owners out of business, I saw an opportunity, so I began to buy up these sites, and do the programming to accept alternative payment methods.  I cleaned up the dead wood of inactive members and ads, then promoted them to build up ACTIVE memberships.  For each site I owned, I got a monthly allocation of free Supersolos that I used for my own email marketing.  I would get these sites profitable, them sell them, with the provision that I retained a lifetime top-level membership on each that I sold.

I had several rental site owners go out of business, and I eventually sold off the remaining sites I acquired, which got me out of the safelist ownership business, but I still keep my hand in it:  I do admin work and ad approvals for 264 of Dave Mosher’s safelists.

My current business plan reflects that my primary business is AFFILIATE MARKETING, specifically email marketing.  I do not do social media like Facebook or X, but I do produce YouTube videos.

So, the point of this was that even though I had to REDEFINE MY BUSINESS several times, due to factors beyond my control, I HAD A BUSINESS PLAN.  Every time I had to reinvent my business, EACH ITERATION OF THAT BUSINESS PLAN was sufficient documentation needed for my accountant to DEFEND CONCURRENT YEARS OF LOSSES to the IRS, which gave me the ability to continue deducting legitimate business expenses, and prove that this was more than what the IRS considered a hobby.

My goal is to continue to earn commissions to the point that I am covering my expenses.  Because I am diligent in documenting my business income and expenses, those legitimate business expenses offset the earnings that otherwise, I would have to pay taxes on.

As I continuously preach:  TREAT IT LIKE A BUSINESS!
